An In- Depth Knowledge on Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person perspires more than normal person would. Perspiration occurs more than required to cool the body. Perspiration is a natural function of the body to regulate the heat. However, excess perspiration leads to such a condition where the person is engulfed in sweat all the time. He or she may suffer excess perspiration in hands (Palmar Hyperhidrosis), armpits (Axillary Hyperhidrosis), feet (Plantar Hyperhidrosis), and face (Facial Blushing).
The person suffering from this condition would find it difficult to work under stressful conditions. Stress may enhance the process of perspiration resulting in stains of clothes and unwanted stench occurring from the body. This leads to embarrassment and the working ability of the person is hampered by such a condition. According to the facts, nearly 6% of the total world population suffers from excessive sweating problem.
The doctors do not yet know the exact cause of the problem. The closest doctors can get to the answer is genetic disorder or an over-activity of a person’s sympathetic nervous system. The eccentric sweat glands are situated in the soles of the feet and palms of the hands. In most cases, it is the hands and the feet that are affected the most. The face and the armpit region are affected to a lesser degree.
Excessive sweating problem can get in the way of daily life activities. Those suffering from excessive sweating on hands often find it difficult to grasp objects. They might feel embarrassed shaking hands with other people. Excessive sweating of the underarms may emit foul smell from the body and may stain the clothes.
