Excessive sweating or Hyperhidrosis is a standard condition affecting many people. The most common form is the Palmar Hyperhidrosis or sweaty palms that cause unusual perspiration in the hands. People suffering from excessive sweating problem may also come across heavy perspiration in face, underarm, and foot. It should not be taken as a disease because it is just a result of enhanced activity of concerned nervous system.

Excessive sweating can be embarrassing as it is often uncontrollable. You can never predict over sweating. Perspiration is required for the thermal regulation of the body however, people suffering from excessive sweating has enhanced need for physiological thermal regulation of the body. Sweating profusely can have some serious implications for the individual. The person may find it difficult to hold a pen, shake hands with others, or grip the steering wheel of a car.
There are two kinds of excessive sweating conditions in a person. The first condition is main hyperhidrosis and second is secondary hyperhidrosis. The emotional stimuli are considered the reason behind excessive perspiration in main hyperhidrosis. The doctors have not determined the root cause until date.

Secondary hyperhidrosis is related to a primary medical condition. It may include an infection, spinal cord injuries, endocrine or neurologic disorders, malignancy, with other conditions. You can avail therapy that targets to resolve the primary situation.

A medical condition may result into grave pessimistic psychological disorders.
